Our Team
Grace Scuderi (She/Her)- President of 3RE and on the Board of Directors
Grace is thrilled to be working for a nonprofit that is committed to helping others on their Long COVID recovery journey. In the summer of 2022, Grace was diagnosed with Long COVID while completing her undergraduate degree at Oregon State University in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and working as a medical clinic coordinator. Grace had to contend with debilitating fatigue and was forced to quit her job.
However, her turning point came when she discovered the Dynamic Neural Retraining System - a program that aims to regulate a maladapted stress response due to chronic illness - then she began to see dramatic improvements in her health. After adopting a mind/body approach to recovery, she is now almost fully recovered and is back to doing the things she loves in life like hiking, reading, and watching reality competition TV shows.
Grace not only attributes her recovery to this program but to unwavering support of her friends and family. Her experience with Long COVID and challenges faced while navigating the medical system with such a debilitating illness inspired her found this nonprofit. She wants to ensure that others affected by Long COVID and ME/CFS receive similar support.
She currently resides in Beaverton where she will take a gap year before applying to medical school. She hopes to help others regain their hope and vitality for life back because it is possible and 3RE is here to help.
Frankie Lane (They/Them)- Treasurer and on the Board of Directors
Frankie Lane holds a degree in Clinical Nutrition from Oregon State University. Since graduating, they have gained valuable experience in healthcare and mental health as a Certified Nursing Assistant and Crisis Counselor. Passionate about mental health, Frankie plans to pursue a Master’s in Social Work with the goal of becoming a therapist.
Outside of their professional life, Frankie enjoys woodworking, fixing things around the house, cooking, and being outdoors. They are currently immersed in their latest hyperfixation: weight lifting.
Frankie’s journey with Long Covid and ME/CFS has profoundly shaped their life. After years of struggling, Frankie made remarkable progress in their recovery by adopting a mind-body approach under the guidance of Dr. Rebecca Kennedy. They went from, at their worst, needing a wheelchair to seeing recovery happen and getting their life back.
As a Director on the Board of 3RE and Treasurer, Frankie is dedicated to helping others on their path to recovery and is excited about the possibilities that lie ahead. They firmly believe that recovery from Long Covid and ME/CFS is possible and are committed to supporting others through their journeys.
Emma Smith (She/Her) - Communications and on the Board of Directors
Emma Smith has a B.A. in Journalism from the University of Montana. She grew up in Oregon and Washington state, before she moved to Montana in 2016 to pursue adventure and journalism. During college, she worked as a reporter and photographer with the Montana Kaimin, while juggling climbing, skiing, backpacking, and roadtrips. She’s had work published in the Montana Kaimin, Bozeman Daily Chronicle, Oregonian, and the Washington Post. Currently, she is a freelance journalist and content creator covering vaccine and health equity. In her free time, she enjoys going on walks, listening to music, reading, and writing voraciously.
She lived with debilitating fatigue for the three years, unaware of what was happening to her body. Eventually, she was unable to work and climb, so she moved back to Oregon looking for answers and better health care. In Feb. 2023, three years after her initial infection; she was diagnosed with Long COVID. Thankfully through Dr. Rebecca Kennedy’s class on the Mind Body Connection and LDN; Emma is slowly recovering and recognizes that healing isn’t linear but it is absolutely possible. She believes education and communication is an extraordinary tool that must be implemented to begin recovery. She is excited to support you on your journey forward.
